It’s quite simple; for podium places at Admiral’s Cup, you need boats with matching names, so Jolt 3/Jolt 6, Beau Geste/Beau Ideal, Django WR51/Django JPK etc. To win you also need sail numbers matching the lengths of your boats, so MON 52/MON 42. You heard it here first, thanks! ;-)

Of course it was also an absolutely thrilling competition with such great, close racing culminating in a spectacular conclusion as the Admiral’s Cup 2 class looked like taking all the top Fastnet Race placings too before in turn being eclipsed by the top few IRC 2 and IRC 1 boats including the French double-handers.
Sail racing at its most engaging for those of us who enjoy the sport and proper, old-style regattas! :-)
