{"id":1795,"date":"2010-04-13T22:40:03","date_gmt":"2010-04-13T21:40:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.petestack.com\/blog\/?p=1795"},"modified":"2025-07-21T13:30:46","modified_gmt":"2025-07-21T12:30:46","slug":"running-and-cycling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.petestack.com\/blog\/running-and-cycling.html","title":{"rendered":"Running and cycling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having run 90 miles last week, found that surprisingly straightforward but knowing it&#8217;s still a big week by my standards, I thought it might be fun to mix in some mountain biking (something that&#8217;s still pretty new to me) to give me a break from the pounding for a day or two.<!--more--> So I&#8217;ve been out on the bike these past two evenings, getting to the Dam (via Penstock, at c.12 miles and 2,100 ft of ascent) last night and Blar a&#8217; Chaorainn (aka Lundavra, at c.18 miles and 2,700 ft) tonight&#8230; taking nearly as long as I might to run the same courses and discovering just how rough even what I&#8217;d normally consider easy ground can be when ridden on a bicycle (except for pure road trips like &#8217;round the Loch&#8217;, which I can ride in half the time I can run)!
